Annual showcase of homes spotlights custom building and design innovation
The Park City Area Showcase of Homes returns this month, featuring 19 homes throughout the Park City area and Heber Valley.
The event has become a long-running, annual tradition, offering residents and visitors an inside look at the area’s latest in custom building.
The event runs across two weekends, Aug. 22–24 and Aug. 29–Sept. 1. Hours are Fridays from 2-8 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The first weekend of the showcase starting on Friday will include Q and A sessions to allow builders and sponsors to share their work and answer questions from attendees.
“This is a chance for people to go beyond just walking through the homes,” said Cheyenne McQuiddy, executive assistant and content manager for the Park City Area Home Builders Association. “They can ask questions, hear directly from builders, and learn how to bring some of these ideas into their own projects.”
Streaming live throughout the weekend, the sessions give viewers an inside look at the inspiration, challenges and hidden details behind each showcase home.
The event, organized by Park City Home Builders Association, is one of the group’s signature events. The nonprofit serves Summit, Wasatch, and Duchesne counties, providing education, resources and advocacy for members of the building industry.
“Our renowned Showcase of Homes has been a remarkable success, shining a spotlight on our exceptional builder members and their trades,” the association said in a statement. “Now, we’re excited to extend this success to our architect members and the products and trades they rely on to bring their visionary creations to life. We’re here to celebrate and promote the entire ecosystem that makes these architectural masterpieces possible.”
For the second year, the showcase will feature architecture and design as its own showcase that narrows in on the details of design versus the overall construction. Organizers said that this section is all about immersing yourself firsthand in the future of design.
“Explore dream homes brought to life without the limits of budget, crafted on two exclusive lots in premier local developments. From groundbreaking concepts to time and cost-saving innovations, you’ll see how today’s architects are shaping tomorrow’s living,” they said.
As part of the home tours, each property will have brands featured as “garage sponsors,” there to interact with attendees and share more information about what they offer to a custom build project.
Organizers ask attendees to follow basic guidelines while visiting homes: wear socks or shoe covers, supervise children, do not bring food or drinks inside homes and respect furniture and surfaces. Builders may also limit the number of people inside a home at one time.
All homes will be available for both in-person and virtual tours with each ticket purchase. Tickets are $24 and valid for all showcase dates.
