Achille Salvagni Atelier Opens Luxury Design Gallery in Palm Beach

MILAN — Florida’s upscale Palm Beach now has a fresh gateway into an exclusive Italian curation of collectible design.

Rome-based Achille Salvagni Atelier, which has galleries in London and New York, has opened its doors on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue, the firm told WWD on Monday.

Within proximity, its neighbors include luxury names such as Salvatore Ferragamo and Chanel.

“For me, opening a gallery on Worth Avenue — surrounded by fashion brands — is not only about expanding geographically, but about finding a cultural home that resonates with the values that have always guided my work: craftsmanship, beauty and timelessness,” Achille Salvagni said in an interview.

Salvagni, who opened his own architectural practice in 2002, said that the growing appetite for collectible design in the U.S. is palpable.

“The American market is essential to us. Opening the new gallery in Palm Beach will be our second location here, following New York, alongside our other gallery in London, and serves as a testament not only to our geographical strategy but also to the growing demand for our collectible designs,” he added.

The collectible art and design market is outperforming other luxury categories and that trajectory is expected to continue, according to the 2025 edition of the biennial Deloitte Private and ArtTactic Art & Finance Report. An estimated $992 billion in art and collectibles is expected to change hands over the next decade, it said.

The inaugural presentation at Achille Salvagni Atelier Palm Beach features a selection of the atelier’s collectible works designed by Salvagni himself, accompanied by a selection of vintage pieces. The array of new pieces includes the Alligator BB sofa made of sheepskin upholstery and gold-plated ebony feet, as well as other opulent creations like the Spider Maximus chandelier fashioned with sculpted, hand-carved onyx and cast bronze.

Salvagni designed the retro Oceano I and II cabinets specifically for the Palm Beach market. Awash in celestial blue, each piece is accented with 24-karat gold-plated bronze.

Salvani’s interiors practice spans residential and yacht interiors and commercial and hospitality projects in New York, London, Mumbai, Miami, Palm Beach, Paris and Rome.

The Rome native launched his limited-edition collectible designs in 2013. In 2015, he inaugurated his first gallery in Mayfair, London, followed by Madison Avenue in New York.

The atelier featured prominently at Design Miami’s Special Projects section in December. The installation brought forth contemporary designs along with 1950s Italian vintage treasures such as The Architettura Trumeau, a cabinet made in 1951 and born from the first collaboration between Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti, which is considered an exploration of classicism and modern design.

The Architettura Trumeu is currently on display, alongside vintage designs from Italian creatives like Renzo Zavanella armchairs and a table by Melchiorre Bega.
