The IIE Vega, Durban Campus has vacancies for Part-Time Lecturers (UX Design and UX Design Technology) for the 2025 academic year.

Competencies required:

Minimum qualification requirements:
Ideal:
- Honours or master’s degree in digital design, multimedia design or interaction design.
Alternatively:
- Undergraduate qualification in a relevant design field, and an NQF 8 or higher qualification in Higher Education. OR
- Honours or Master’s Degree in Information Design or Digital Arts with at least 3 years experience as a UX designer. OR
- NQF 8 or higher degree in a cognate field with extensive knowledge, experience and a portfolio to demonstrate web and mobile front-end development skills, including Html5, CSS3 and Javascript
Minimum work experience requirements:
- At least two years of industry experience as a digital, UX or Interaction Designer. A solid foundation in web design and UX design is key.
- The candidate is required to have a layered portfolio demonstrating her/his ability to engage with intermediate design challenges and his/her experience and knowledge of the skills listed above.
- UXTE7311 module – Minimum 3 years industry or teaching experience PLUS portfolio in web design using web coding languages such as Html5 and CSS3 and JavaScript and Design Systems.
Working conditions:
- Please note that this is an Independent Contractor (part-time) role
Working hours:
- Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 – specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and hours worked.
