Shea has decorated with a moody color palette that couldn’t be more in keeping with the wallpaper. She says, ‘We wrapped the entire room in this dark paint color, and then we just layered depth on top of that.’ The vintage chandelier, leather desk chair and antique wooden desk add to the luxurious setting, the perfect accompaniments to contrast against the rich color palette.
Shea has been brave with her furniture choices, adding a green sofa and dark wooden furniture. While many would add paler accents to offset the dark walls, these pieces blend seamlessly into the space, adding to the room’s dark and moody ambience. Shea says, ‘Behind the desk area, we had room for a sofa. Instead of doing a contrast against the deep green paint color, we just leaned into that tone, and we did the Barden sofa from McGee & Co. in a dark green velvet.’
