KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) will return for its 32nd edition from March 4–7, 2026, across two venues in Kuala Lumpur: the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL). The show will feature more than 700 exhibitors and is expected to attract approximately 20,000 buyers from 140 countries and regions.
Operating under the theme “Source. Connect. Trade.”, MIFF 2026 will cover 100,000 square meters across 17 halls. The event continues to position Malaysia as a global hub for high-quality furniture design and production, emphasizing export-ready collections and buyer-focused programs.
“This year’s MIFF marks more than 30 years of global industry trust for an event with proven sales performance and a consistent track record of connecting global buyers and sellers to deliver real business opportunities,” said Ms. Kelie Lim, General Manager of MIFF. “It has also provided unmatched international exposure for brands seeking to grow beyond borders, celebrates heritage craftsmanship and champions new design trends and technologies.”
Supporting Malaysia’s Export Industry
The 2025 edition of MIFF generated an estimated USD 1.31 billion in on-site sales, reflecting steady growth in Malaysia’s furniture export performance. The country ranks among the top 10 global furniture exporters, with approximately 80% of its production bound for international markets. The sector generates roughly USD 4.2 billion in annual revenue, supported by a skilled workforce, strategic location, and advanced manufacturing infrastructure.
For MIFF 2026, a new partnership with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will help expand the international reach of Malaysian manufacturers and strengthen export opportunities for exhibitors and buyers through MATRADE’s global trade network.
Design and Innovation Highlights
MIFF 2026 will continue to showcase design innovation through the 16th edition of the MIFF Furniture Design Competition (MIFF FDC). The 2026 theme, “Playful. Practical. Purposeful: Furniture for Generation Alpha”, challenges designers to develop children’s bedroom furniture that combines creativity with function. The competition will also feature the new MIFF FDC CLUB, connecting emerging designers with manufacturers for collaborative product development and prototype creation.
Other creative showcases include the xOrdinary Design Showcase, themed “Happiness,” which promotes unconventional concepts in design, and Kuala Lumpur iDesign Week, a collaboration with Guangzhou Design Week that fosters creativity among Asian designers. The My Favourite International Design (MFID) Awards will also return, recognizing achievements in architecture and interior design.
New Exhibition Concepts and Sustainability
At WTCKL, MIFF will debut the “FurniFusion” concept, built around three categories — Live, Work, and Play. Highlights include the Made-in-Malaysia Hall, MIFF OFFICE (Southeast Asia’s largest office furniture exhibition), and The Muse, a section devoted to lifestyle and décor products.
MIFF will also continue its sustainability initiatives, including the Tree Planting Campaign in Sabah, first launched in 2024. The 2026 edition will integrate digital features through the MIFF Furniverse App, offering interactive maps, digital lead retrieval, and navigation tools for exhibitors and visitors.
“MIFF solidifies our long-term vision to further bolster Malaysia’s status on the global platform as a key player in the quality furniture industry,” said Ms. Kelie Lim. “On a larger scale, it looks to elevate the global furniture industry, and this aim is further boosted by MIFF’s reputation as Southeast Asia’s largest export-oriented furniture trade show.”
Trade visitors can register for free admission before February 13, 2026, to save on the RM30 entrance fee and gain access to MIFF’s buyer privilege programs. Registration is available at www.miff.com.my/register.
